Week 11 10) Where to Invade Next? An Argument. [Categories: Where to Invade Next, Research Paper]: Please complete the following:
Welcome to my ninth blog post! In this blog post I will choose three different topics from the documentary, compose research questions for each topic and provide an argument for each. You can refer to my previous blog post to get an idea of what the documentary was about. Topic #1: Paid time off.
Research question: Should American businesses provide their employees more paid time off? Argument: I believe they should provide their employees more paid time off. Maybe not seven weeks but I feel like every person needs breaks in their lives and most people can’t afford to take time off because they won’t get paid for it and need the money. Topic #2: Free college. Research question: Should America provide college education free of charge? Argument: I think America should provide colleges free of charge because I believe that the expense of going to college is what drives most people away from attending college. Topic #3: Prisons Research question: Should American prisons treat the inmates like everyday citizens? Argument: I don’t believe that prisons should treat the inmates like their on vacation because I don’t believe they should be rewarded if they do a serious crime. I do think there needs to be changes in prisons such as being in their own secluded jail cells with their own bathrooms and showers so they aren’t being harmed by the other inmates. I believe they should be treated as humans and not as animals. Welcome to my fifth blog post! In this blog post I will have read and annotated Hills Like White Elephants (Ernest Hemingway) and will be answering two questions, whether I believe the woman chooses to stay with the man and a time I decided to stay or leave a relationship.
-I believe that she does choose to stay with the man. In my opinion it sounds like she is trying to do whatever it takes to make him happy, and it sounds like she really loves him so I believe she will go on the train with him. He seems to believe that things will eventually get better and that if they go together they can be happy and everything will be okay. Whatever situation they’re in, it seems they both believe that being together will make them happier than being apart.
